Vigil In Solidarity with Pittsburgh's Jewish Community

In Response to Saturday's Shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh

The Jewish Community Alliance of Northeastern PA stands in solidarity with the Jewish community in Pittsburgh. We are thinking of and praying for the Tree of Life Synagogue and the Jewish community of Pittsburgh during this difficult time.

We have been monitoring the situation and have been in contact with our local Rabbis and law enforcement.  The JCA, synagogue Rabbis, Executive Directors and Presidents will be meeting with law enforcement officials this week to discuss security protocols for both the short term and long term.

At the JCC, we take the security of our members and guests very seriously, and their safety is always forefront in our minds.  Entry is by key card only and we have cameras at all entrances.  We will remain alert and ask you not to allow anyone to enter with you with whom you are not familiar.

Our Jewish community is strong. We will continue to maintain a protective eye on our community, and will not be intimidated or deterred. We will mourn this terrible loss, but we will continue to attend services, we will continue to celebrate Shabbat and we will continue to be proud of who we are.

PLEASE JOIN US FOR A COMMUNITY WIDE VIGIL ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 29 AT 6:30 PM AT THE JCC IN MEMORY OF THE 11 INNOCENT VICTIMS.

May God comfort the families amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem

Sincerely,
